Academic Advising
Newly accepted students will consult with the program director for orientation and advising before beginning graduate course work. After coursework has been started, students will be paired with an advisor based on student interest and faculty availability. MLA faculty advisors are comprised of the MLA core professors and members of the Graduate Council who teach regularly in the program. A student may request to change advisors by contacting the MLA Director.
Students are expected to maintain contact with their designated graduate advisor to ensure sufficient progress throughout the program. The Graduation Check Sheet should be used by the student to track his or her progress. This form may be downloaded from the Forms section of this site.
